A Christmas message from Never A Truer Word
A lovely message, but is it sincere? What is the intention?
Let’s take a look
“I’d like to” creates distance compared to if the subject had written “I wish you”.
“Very” before “merry Christmas” shows a need to persuade. For some reason, they want you to know they don’t merely wish you a “merry Christmas”, but a “VERY merry” one.
There’s a dropped pronoun before “Truly”. This suggests a lack of ownership and a lack of commitment to what is said. I’d have been happier seeing “I truly hope…” here.
And talking of “truly”, why the need to point out they are being truthful? Why not just state their hope rather than having to point out it is a sincere hope?
Next we have a list “prosperity, safety and happiness” this suggests the order these concepts have in the subjects mind. Prosperity is more important than safety and safety is more important than happiness.
The subject is not explicit in saying who they wish those concepts for in 2025. Is it themselves?
After such a personal message it is noted the subject ends with a website address. Are they hoping that by finishing with this that the recipient has the url in their mind and looks at the website? This would fit with “prosperity” coming highest in the wishes for 2025.
Conclusion
Have a great festive time. I hope you and those who matter to you receive everything you want.
