Deception Hacks 2: Liars regularly use these two words
I have already shared my top five words that indicate deception is taking place. Whenever you hear or read someone saying just, never, absolutely, honesty or so, I recommend you go on alert for deception and pay close attention to what is being said around them.
I’m thrilled to add another two words to the list. These pop up regularly when deception is taking place, but require a little more context.
People
Used in the context of “people are saying…”, “people were doing…”, “people told me…” etc. Whenever someone uses “people” and they really mean anything from “some people” to “a couple of people”, beware. They are trying to convince you of something, why aren’t they confident that the facts won’t speak on their own? Why do they have to exaggerate to “people”?
Normal
This one comes up often in crime. Whenever someone with guilty knowledge is trying to persuade us they had nothing to do with the crime, and want us to believe that they noticed nothing was up on that day, they will tell us how “normal” things were. “Normal” will be mentioned early on, as it is important for them to say. For example, “we got up as normal at seven”, “it was a normal day”, “everything was normal”.
A key indicator is if “normal” comes before anything else like “I arrived as normal at 9am”, “As normal, as I kissed her goodnight”.
Add them to your superpower. Remember, when someone uses one of those words, it doesn’t mean they ARE deceiving you, it’s an indicator to be on a alert and question what else they are saying.
